Research

My group studies how networked devices at the edge can communicate what matters for a decision, rather than every bit that is sensed, and how to make that communication dependable across terrestrial, aerial, vehicular and underwater settings.

Research Themes

Task-Oriented & Semantic Edge Communication

Transmitting task-relevant semantic content instead of raw data over ultra-low-bitrate links such as LoRa, with on-device inference on embedded accelerators.

6G, NTN & Vehicular Networks

Trust, latency and resource management for V2X over terrestrial and non-terrestrial networks, network slicing and 3GPP standardisation.

UAV & Flying Ad Hoc Networks

UAV path planning, trajectory control and dynamic positioning to extend coverage and support resilient post-disaster communication.

Internet of Underwater Things

Energy-efficient MAC protocols, AUV-aided clustering and data collection, and CoAP-based reliable communication in underwater sensor networks.

Ambient Sensing & Activity Recognition

Human activity recognition with ambient binary sensor networks and multi-sensor health monitoring.

Information-Centric Networking

Content retrieval, interest forwarding and privacy in named data networking for IoT and vehicular systems.
